v0.1.3 is out now!

2025-04-20

Hi everyone! It's been a little bit since I had anything to say. I was busy working on the next client patch and installment of features!

Today I introduce to you the partnership system!

OoooOOOOOoooo Partnership... What's that?

Glad you asked! A partnership is a cooperation between two players. Two players forming a partnership can enter wild battles together. The wild battle thus becomes a "Multi Double Battle", to use the Pokémon jargon for it, which enabled two Players to each control a Pokémon in the battle. Battling this way will enable all participating Pokémon to receive a 15% experience boost once the battle has ended. Furthermore, partners will automatically spectate NPC battles their partner happens to start. Oh, did I mention that you can also start 4 player double battles now? One partnership challenging another partnership to a battle will have the opportunity to participate in another form of "Multi Double Battle" that PokéStory has to offer, where two teams of two players each face off against each other.

This new feature is accessible through the Right-Click Interaction menu when you right-click on a player. Start a partnership and play Pokémon together! 😃

In addition to the partnership system, there are other changes and fixes introduced to the game with this client patch.

Plans for v0.1.4

So, next up on my roadmap to 0.2.0, I want to introduce Crafting, Gathering, random Items on the Ground, the Marketplace, and Mail features. This will be the last of the features I will need to implement before I can start planning to release new areas into the game! I don't want create a ton of world just to have to go back and retroactively design the world with these features. I want the world to grow along side these features, so that's why it's taken us until this point to get some new features. The Partnership feature was especially important to me for the "Together" aspect of "Let's Play Pokémon Together", so I'm happy to have that finished off and implemented. I don't want to look too far into the future, but I do have plans for 0.1.5 and 0.1.6 all the way until I get the client up to the version 0.2.0 I've been envisioning.

So, until next time, I hope you all enjoy the new additions to the game! 😃
